Terms of Use

1. Purpose

These Terms govern the rights, obligations and responsibilities between InnoCode (business registration no. 277-39-01496, the “Company”) and users in relation to the use of the mobile application Zzang Alarm (the “Service”).

2. Definitions

1. User — a person who agrees to these Terms and uses the Service.
2. Alarm lock — the wake-enforcement feature that allows an alarm to be dismissed only by scanning a barcode, by saying your registered phrase (voice), or by voice together with a barcode.
3. Emergency dismissal (PIN) — a last-resort method to dismiss an alarm using a pre-registered PIN when dismissal by the registered barcode or voice is not feasible.
4. Pro (subscription) — features provided through a paid subscription (weather briefing, schedule read-aloud, etc.).

3. Scope of the Service

1. Free — alarms (unlimited, including barcode, voice, and voice+barcode locks), in-app local schedules (calendar) and schedule reminders, and device calendar overlay (optional, read-only).
2. Pro — morning briefing read-aloud (date and weekday, weather, schedule).
3. The Company may change the content of features to improve the Service; material changes will be announced in advance.
4. Briefing read-aloud uses the speech synthesis (TTS) built into your device. Voice quality, the range of available voices and language support therefore depend on your device and OS settings, and narration may be limited if no voice for that language is installed on the device. The narration text does not leave your device (see Section 3 of the Privacy Policy).
5. The device calendar overlay is optional and read-only. Events from the calendars you pick (Google, Samsung, …) are shown alongside your app schedule and, if you choose, read aloud in your briefing. The Company never adds, changes or deletes events in your device calendar. The content and sync state of those events depend on their provider and are not guaranteed by the Company, and the rest of the app works whether or not you grant the permission.
6. The AI news briefing was removed from the Service on 2026-08-17.

4. Limits of Alarm Playback — Important

Because this is an alarm application, we disclose the constraints imposed by the device operating system honestly. We do not guarantee that the alarm will always sound at maximum volume under all circumstances.

1. The Service is designed to schedule alarms on time within the limits permitted by the device OS.

2. In the following cases the alarm may be quieter or may not sound at all. These are OS constraints that the app cannot override.

   iOS

   • If you force-quit the app (swipe it away in the app switcher), the alarm will not sound. No notification will be shown either. iOS does not provide third-party apps with a means to ring a scheduled alarm once the app has been terminated.
   • If you restart the device, alarms will not sound until you open the app again, for the same reason.
   • The alarm is designed to sound even when the silent (ringer) switch is on, but it will be inaudible if the ringer/notification volume is 0.
   • Under Focus modes the alarm sound still plays, but the lock-screen notification may be delayed. To receive the notification immediately, allow “Time Sensitive Notifications” for this app in that Focus mode.

   Android

   • Alarms are designed to persist even if the app is force-quit or the device is restarted.
   • However, battery-saving or background restrictions from some manufacturers (e.g. Samsung), or a missing “Alarms & reminders” (exact alarm) permission, may delay or prevent playback.

   Common — device powered off, insufficient storage or battery, or app deletion.

3. Recommendations — when an alarm absolutely must sound: ① do not force-quit the app (especially on iOS), ② check the ringer and notification volume, and ③ on Android, allow the battery-optimization exception.
4. The Company’s liability for damage arising from an alarm failing to operate is governed by Article 8 (Disclaimer), to the extent permitted by applicable law.

5. Subscription and Payment

1. Payment, renewal and refunds for the Pro subscription are governed by the policies of the Apple App Store and Google Play.
2. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the end of the term. Cancellation and refunds are handled through each store’s account settings.
3. The Company does not directly store payment information (card numbers, receipts, etc.). Payments are processed by the respective stores and payment providers.
4. Prices and plan composition may change; changes will be announced in advance.

6. User Obligations

1. Users shall use the Service in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms.
2. Users are responsible for following the recommendations in Article 4 to maintain alarm reliability.
3. Users shall not reverse-engineer, copy, or redistribute the Service without authorization, or interfere with its normal operation.

7. Intellectual Property

1. Copyright and other intellectual property rights in the Service and related software belong to the Company or the rightful owners.
2. Third-party content such as bundled alarm sounds is subject to its respective license (e.g. the Pixabay Content License), and the Company will provide any required attribution.

8. Disclaimer

1. The Company is not liable for damage arising from causes beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, device/OS constraints (Article 4), user settings (volume, Focus mode, force-quitting, etc.), and network failures.
2. The Service is provided “as is”, and the Company makes no express or implied warranties to the extent permitted by applicable law.
3. This Article does not limit the rights guaranteed to users (consumers) under applicable law.

9. Changes to the Terms

The Company may amend these Terms when necessary and will announce the effective date and the substance of the changes within the Service or through the app stores. If a user continues to use the Service after the effective date of the amended Terms, the user is deemed to have accepted the amendment.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea. In the event of a dispute between the Company and a user arising from use of the Service, jurisdiction shall be determined in accordance with the Civil Procedure Act and other applicable laws. This Article does not limit any rights a user may have as a consumer under the laws of their place of residence.
